Properties: bitter, slightly cold
Actions: disperses heat and fever, resolves Shao Yang disorders, soothes liver, cures drooping and ptosis
Medical Indications: cold and influenza, alternting chills and fever, vomiting, flank pain, chest constriction and chest pain, vertigo, dizziness, menstrual disorders, emotional instability, prolapse of uterus, prolapse of rectum, hemorrhoids, diarrhea
Contraindications: not to be used in cases of liver heat and cough due to Yin deficiency, not to be used together with Interferon
Caution: overdose may cause nausea and vomiting, side effects may include increased bowel movement and drowsiness
Dosage: 3 to 12 grams
