Ce Bai Ye (Biota Leaves, Leafy Twig of Arborvitae)

Latin Name: Cacumen Biotae Orientalis

Properties: bitter, astringent, slightly cold

Actions: harmonizes blood, stops bleeding, inhibits coughing and expels phlegm, treats mild burns

Medical Indications: bleeding disorders due to heat, such as coughing or vomiting of blood, nosebleed, heavy menstrual bleeding, blood in stool or urine, bleeding from gums, injuries or trauma related bleeding, accumulatin of hot phlegm with bloody sputum, topically to treat mild burns, alopecia

Contraindications: none

Caution: to be used with caution in cases of blood stagnation, long term ingestion or large doses may cause nausea, dizziness, and vomiting

Dosage: 10 to 20 grams
