Cang Zhu (Atractylodes Rhizome)

Latin Name: Rhizoma Atractylodis

Properties: acrid, bitter, warm, aromatic

Actions: removes dampness and strengthens function of spleen, dispels wind-cold, induces sweating, improves eyesight

Medical Indications: yeast infections, poor digestion, low appetite, diarrhea with vomiting, edema in lower limbs, headaches, solar plexus pain, pain in extremities due to wind-cold-dampness, fever chills, absence of sweating, blocked nasal passages, night blindness or diminished vision

Contraindications: none

Caution: to be used with caution in cases with Yin deficiency with sweating and heat

Dosage: 5 to 20 grams
