Latin Name: Mentae Haplocalycis
Properties: pungent, cold

Actions: dispels wind-heat from head, throat and eyes, vents rashes, disperses liver Qi

Medical Indications: upper respiratory infection and other febrile diseases, headache in influenza, sore throat, inflammation of the eye, mouth ulcers, rubelly measles, pressure in chest and flanks, unstable emotions, gynecological problems

Contraindications: not to be used with Yin deficiency, not to be used with liver Yang ascending, not to be used with profuse sweating

Caution: to be used with caution in nursing mothers

Dosage: 2 to 10 grams
