Latin Name: Carapax Trionycis

Properties: salty, neutral

Actions: nourishes Yin, clears heat, suppresses Yang, invigorates blood, softens hardness, reduces fever, dissipates hard lumps, improves immune system

Medical Indications: Yin deficiency with hot flashes, Yin deficiency with heat and pain, chronic malaria, pain in chest and ribs, amenorrhea, swelling and hardening of liver and spleen

Contraindications: not to be used during pregnance, not to be used in cases of spleen deficiency with diarrhea orloose stool, not to be used in cases where an exterior disorder is present

Dosage: 10 to 24 grams
