Latin Name: Fructurs Piperis Longi

Properties: acrid, hot

Actions: warms middle Jiao, disperses cold, relieves pain

Medical Indications: abdominal and epigastric pain due to cold spleen, stomach, and intestines, nausea, vomiting, poor appetite, diarrhea, dysentery, topically for toothache

Contraindications: not to be used in cases of excess or deficient heat

Dosage: 2 to 5 grams
