Bei Sha Shen (Glehnia Root)

Latin Name: Radix Glehniae Littoralis

Properties: sweet, slightly bitter, slightly cold

Actions: replenishes Yin of the lung and stomach, removes heat from the lung, promotes fluid secretion

Medical Indications: dry cough due to heat in lung, bloody sputum in phthisis, thirst in febrile conditions

Contraindications: not to be taken together with Li Lu

Dosage: 5 to 6 grams
