Ban Zhi Lian (Barbated Skullcap Herb)

Latin Name: Radix Scutellariae Barbatae

Properties: slightly bitter, cold

Actions: removes toxic heat, invigorates blood, reduces inflammation

Medical Indications: cirrhosis of liver, ascites, hepatitis, various types of cancer, swellings, sores, abscesses, insect and snake bites, trauma

Contraindications: not to be taken during pregnancy, not to be taken in cases of blood deficiency

Dosage: 5 to 60 grams
