Latin Name: Radix Iasatidis seu Baphicacanthi

Properties: bitter, cold

Actions: removes toxic heat, cools blood, benefits throat

Medical Indications: eruptive epidemic disorders with dark red or purplish tongue, such as influenza, meningitis, mumps, pharyngitis, laryngitis, erysipelas, scarlet fever, damp-heat jaundice, carbuncle

Contraindications: not to be used in cases without fire toxins, not to be used in patients with a weak constitution

Dosage: 15 to 30 grams
