Latin Name: Rhizoma Imperatae Cylindricae
Properties: sweet, cold
Actions: cools blood and stops bleeding, clears heat from lungs and stomach, promotes urination
Medical Indications: hemorrhagic fever, hemoptysis, epistaxis, urinary problems, damp-heat jaundice, edema, stomach and lung heat with the following symptoms: irritability, nausea, vomiting, thirst, coughing
Contraindications: not to be used in cases of spleen deficiency or kidney Yang deficiency
Caution: to be used with care in cases of low blood pressure
Dosage: up to 60 grams
