Latin Name: Bulbus Lilii
Properties: sweet, slightly bitter, slightly cold
Actions: moistens lung, stops cough, clears heat, calms spirit, nourishes Yin
Medical Indications: chronic cough, shortness of breath, bloody sputum, chronic febrile disease, night sweats, restlessness, irritability, inability to concentrate, stomach ulcers, solar plexus pain due to spleen deficiency, Dengue fever, neurasthenia, boils
Contraindications: not to be used in patients with Middle Jiao deficiency, diarrhea, and loose stools, not to be used for phlegm-cough
Caution: Bai He may cause drowsiness and may impair the ability to drive and/or operate machinery
Dosage: 9 to 30 grams
