Bai Guo (Ginkgo Biloba)

Latin Name: Semen Ginkgonis Bilobae

Properties: sweet, bitter, astringent, neutral, slightly toxic, highly toxic for children

Actions: stops wheezing, dispels phlegm, lowers sludge level in blood, eliminates damp heat and dampness, stops vaginal discharge in yeast infection

Medical Indications: cardiovascular diseases and diseases of the blood vessels of the brain, neurological diseases such as vascular dementia, Parkinson’s disease, etc., Meniere’s disease, tinnitus, diseases of the respiratory system, optical neurophathy, diseases of the urniary tract, allergies, chronic hepatitis B, acute pancreatitis, pimples

Contraindications: not to be used in the initial stages of cough, not to be used in sticky phlegm due to Yin deficiency, not to be used long term or in large quantitites

Caution: Bai Guo is very toxic for children

Dosage: 1.5 to 9 grams
