Bai Bu (Stemona Root)

Latin Name: Radix Stemonae

Properties: sweet, bitter, slightly warm

Actions: moistens lung and stops cough, anti-parasitic

Medical Indications: acute or chronic cough, chronic cough from deficiency such as tuberculosis, chronic respiratory disorders, used externally to kill body or head lice, fleas, pinworm (enema), other itchy dermatological disorders

Contraindications: not to be used in cases of spleen deficiency, diarrhea, or loose stool
Dosage: 5 to 10 grams
