Ba Dou

Latin Name: Crotonis Fructus
Properties:
- seed: hot, acrid, toxic
- root and leaves: warm, acrid, toxic

Actions: unblocks and purges interior cold, regulates water metabolism, frees blocked phlegm, helps throat, external usage for ulcers and abscesses

Medical Indications: constipation, distention, abdominal pain and/or fullness caused by coldness of bowels, edema and ascites, clogged phlegm, ulcers, abscesses, furuncles, warts, dermatitis

Contraindications: not to be used in pregnancy, not to be used in weak patients, not to be used with Qian Niu Zi

Caution: this herb is very toxic and should only be used with extreme care!

Dosage: 0.1 to 0.3 grams
