Latin Name: Radix Ginseng

Properties: slightly bitter, sweet, slightly warm

Actions: strongly tonifies Yuan Qi and lung Qi, tonifies and strengthens spleen and stomach, generates fluids, alleviates thirst, tonifies lungs, calms spirit, clears mind, benefits kidneys

Medical Indications: Qi deficiency with symptoms such as cold limbs, profuse sweating, shortness of breath, shallow breathing, and weak pulse, spleen Qi deficiency with symptoms such as poor appetitte, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal distention, or even stomach - or rectal prolapse, lung Qi deficiency with symptoms such as asthma, dyspnea, wheezing, shortness o breath, labored breathing, high fever, profuse sweating, thirst, and impotence due to Qi and Yin injury, heart Qi deficiency with symptoms such as anxiety, palpitations, forgetfulness, insomnia, confusion, and restlessness

Contraindications: not to be used in excess conditions, not to be used in cases with bleeding due to heat in blood, not to be used in cases of liver Yang rising, not to be used in cases with constipation, internal accumulation, parasites, or in fire conditions, not to be used in cases with cough or phlegm accumulation due to lung heat, not to be taken together with stimulants (coffee)

Dosage: 1 to 9 grams
