Qin Pi (Bark of Korean Ash Branch)

Latin Name: Cortex Fraxini

Properties: bitter, cold

Actions: eliminates heat, stops diarrhea, drains liver fire, clears eyes, clears wind dampness

Medical Indications: dysentery and diarrhea due to damp heat, blood in stool, redness, swelling and cataracts due to liver heat, painful obstructions due to heat, vaginal yeast - or bacterial infections
Contraindicatons: not to be used in cases of cold due to spleen or stomach deficiency, not to be used together with Wu Zhu Yu

Dosage: 3 to 12 grams
