Properties: bitter, cold, toxic

Actions: unblocks bowels, drives out phlegm, kills intestinal parasites, reduces stagnation

Medical Indications: constipation, flatulence, cough, asthma, edema, escites, beriberi, abdominal pain due to parasites, difficulty in urination

Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy, not to be used in cases of spleen and Qi deficiency, not to be used long-term or in large dosage

Dosage: 4.5 to 9 grams
