Pi Pa Ye (Loquat Leaf)

Latin Name: Eryobotryae Folium

Properties: bitter, slightly cold

Actions: removes heat from lung and stomach, transforms phlegm, stops cough and vomiting, descends stomach Qi

Medical Indications: cough and dyspnea due to heat in lung, bitter taste and dry mouth due to heat, nausea and vomiting, acid regurgitation, thirst, belching, and hiccups due to stomach heat

Contraindications: not to be used in cases of cough or vomiting due to cold

Dosage: 6 to 15 grams
