Mu Xiang (Costus Root)

Latin Name: Radix Auklandiae

Properties: acrid, bitter, warm

Actions: moves Qi, regulates middle Jiao, relieves pain, strangthens spleen, prevents stagnation

Medical Indications: food stagnation, poor appetite,indigestion, abdominal and epigastric fullness, pain, bloating, diarrhea, jaundice, dysentery, vomiting

Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy, not to be used in cases with Yin deficiency or depleted fluids

Dosage: 1.5 to 9 grams
