Properties: salty, astringent, cool

Actions: calms spirit, benefits Yin, anchors floating Yang, prevents leakage of fluids due to deficiency, softens hardness, dissipates nodules, absorbs acidity, alleviates pain

Medical Indications: anxiety, palpitations, irritability, restlessness, headaches, dizziness, insomnia, blurred vision, tinnitus, nightsweats, spontaneous sweats, spermatorrhea, nocturnal emissions, uterine bleeding, vaginal discharge, lumps, goiter, scrofula, stomach pain, sour taste in mouth

Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy, not to be used in cases of high fever without sweat

Dosage: 9 to 30 grams
