Lu Dou (Mung Bean, Phaseolus)

Latin Name: Semen Phaseoli

Properties: sweet, cool

Actions: relieves summerheat, rids of edema, treats irritability and fever with thirst, stops headaches, acts as antidote for toxins

Medical Indications: fever with excess thirst due to summerheat, edema, headaches, poisening (especially pesticides)

Contraindications: not to be used in cases of spleen or kidney deficiency with weak digestion or chronic pain in lower back

Dosage: 15 to 30 grams
