Liu Huang (Sulfur)

Latin Name: Sulphur

Properties: sour, hot, toxic

Actions: tonifies vitality gate fire, strengthens Yang, stops itching, kills parasites, relieves toxicity

Medical Indications: cough, asthma, constipation due to spleen deficiency, cold lower back and knees due to Yang deficiency, damp sores, ulcers, ringworm, scabies, carbuncles

Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy, not to be used in cases of Yin deficiency with heat signs

Dosage: 1 to 3 grams
