Latin Name: Nelumbinis Nuciferae

Properties: bitter, cold

Actions: calms spirit and heart fire, astringes essences, stops bleeding

Medical Indications: confusion, restlessness, irritability, and delirium caused by heat transferring into pericardium channel, thirst, temporary high blood pressure, insomnia, bloody vomit, spermatorrhea, tongue ulcers

Contraindications: not to be used in cases of abdominal masses or constipation

Dosage: 1.5 to 6 grams
