Latin Name: Semen Nelumbinis Nuciferae

Properties: sweet, astringent, neutral

Actions: binds intestines, stops diarrhea, tonifies spleen and kidneys, stabilizes Jing, nourishes heart, calms spirit

Medical Indications: loss of appetite, diarrhea, spermatorrhea, premature ejaculation, vaginal discharge, uterine bleeding, anxiety, palpitations, irritability, insomnia

Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy, not to be used in cases of abdominal distention, or constipation

Dosage: 6 to 15 grams
