Latin Name: Radix Et Rhizoma Veratri

Properties: acrid, bitter, cold, toxic

Actions: induces vomiting, eliminates phlegm and wind, stops parasites, lowers blood pressure, heart rate, and respiration rate

Medical Indications: cough with phlegm, nausea, high blood pressure, parasites

Contraindications: not to be taken during pregnancy, not to be taken together with Ren Shen, Dan Shen, Sha Shen, Xuan Shen, Ku Shen, Xi Xin, Shao Yao, and Da Huang

Caution: Li Lu is very toxic

Dosage: 0.1 to 0.15 grams
