Latin Name: Radix Sophorae Flavescentis

Properties: bitter, cold

Actions: eliminates heat, disperses wind, dries dampness, promotes urination, stops itching, kills parasites

Medical Indications: acute dysentery, jaundice, leukorrhea, bacterial infections of the skin, eczema, sores, acute urinary tract infections caused by heat, heat induced edema

Contraindications: not to be used in cases of cold from spleen and stomach deficiency, not to be used together with Tu Si Zi and Li Lu

Dosage: 10 to 20 grams
