Latin Name: Semen Cassiae

Properties: sweet, bitter, salty, slightly cold

Actions: removes heat, improves eyesight, moistens intestines

Medical Indications: red, itchy eyes, light sensitivity, headache, blurred vision, dizziness, chronic constipation and dry stool

Contraindications: not to be used in cases of diarrhea, not to be used together with Huo Ma Ren, not to be used in cases of low blood pressure

Dosage: 9 to 15 grams
