Huai Niu Xi (Achyranthes Root)

Latin Name: Racix Achyranthis Bidentatae

Properties: bitter, sour, neutral

Actions: invigorates blood, nourishes liver and kidneys, strengthens bones and tendons

Medical Indications: spastic limbs, weak and painful loin and knees, postpartum pain in abdomen caused by blood stasis, irregular menses, bloody urine, physical injuries

Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy, not to be used in cases with diarrhea due to spleen deficiency, spermatorrhea, or excessive menstruation due to Qi deficiency, not to be used together with Bai Qian

Dosage: 9 to 15 grams
