Latin Name: Flos Carthami

Properties: pungent, warm

Actions: opens channels, eliminates blood stasis, invigorates and nourishes blood, regulates menses, alleviates pain

Medical Indications: amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, postpartum pain, difficult labor, retention of lochia, traumatic injuries, measles, sores, carbuncles, paralysis, joint pain

Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy

Caution: overdoses may cause excessive bleeding

Dosage: 3 to 9 grams
