Latin Name: Fructus Terminaliae Chebulae

Properties: bitter, sour, astringent, neutral

Actions: tightens intestines, stops diarrhea, stops cough, relieves inflammation of throat, improves eyesight

Medical Indications: edema, ascites with varicose vein, prolapse of rectum, bloody stool, chronic cough, asthma due to lung deficiency, sore throat, loss of voice

Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy

Caution: to be used with caution in cases of spleen deficiency

Dosage: 3 to 9 grams
