Zhi Ke (Mature Bitter Orange)

Latin Name: Fructus Citri Aurantii

Properties: bitter, acrid, slightly cold

Actions: breaks stagnat Qi, reduces distension and accumulation

Medical Indications: cough with abundance of phlegm, bloating in chest, abdomen, and solar plexus area, indigestion, constipation, prolaps of uterus, rectum, and stomach

Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy, not to be used in cases of Qi, spleen, and stomach deficiency

Dosage: 3 to 10 grams
