Latin Name: Tuber Curcumae

Properties: acrid, bitter, aromatic, warm

Actions: moves blood and Qi, cools blood, clears heat, relieves pain, opens orifices

Medical Indications: jaundice, hepatitis, gall stones, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, epistaxis, hematuria, hematemesis, irregular menses, abdominal masses, traumatic injuries, liver cirrhosis, flatulence, epilepsy, seizures, anxiety, mania, agiation, inflammatory skin conditions, ringworm, leech bites, bruising, infected wounds

Contraindications: not to be used in cases without Qi and blood stagnation, not to be used in cases with Yin deficiency

Caution: to be used with caution during pregnancy

Dosage: 3 to 9 grams
