Latin Name: Herba Leonuri

Properties: acrid, slightly bitter, cold, slightly toxic

Actions: clears toxic heat, invigorates blood, regulates menstruation, dispels blood stasis, reduces edema, reduces masses, promotes urination

Medical Indications: gyneclogical disorders caused by blood stagnation, amenorrhea, irregular menses, postpartum abdominal pain, fixed abdominal masses, heavy menses with clots, infertility, traumatic pain, edema, dysuria, abdominal distension, fatigue, sallow complexion, chronic nephritis, kidney stones, eczema, sores, uclers, lesions, itchy rashes, toxic swellings

Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy, not to be used in cases of Yin and blood deficiency, not to be used in cases of Yang deficiency with prolaps

Caution: long-term usage may be toxic to kidneys

Dosage: 9 to 30 grams
