Xuan Fu Hua (Inula Flower)

Latin Name: Flos Inulae

Properties: acrid, bitter, warm

Actions: regulates water circulation, redirects lung Qi downward, reduces phlegm, stops vomiting

Medical Indications: asthma, bronchitis, cough, wheezing, phlegm and fluid accumulation in lungs, nausea, vomiting, belching, and hiccups caused by rebellious stomach Qi

Contraindications: not to be used in cases with dry cough due to Yin deficiency, not to be used in cases with loose stools due to spleen deficiency

Dosage: 3 to 12 grams
