Xie Bai (Chive Bulb)

Latin Name: Bulbus Allii

Properties: acrid, bitter, warm

Actions: unblocks Yang Qi, disperses cold phlegm, eliminates stagnation, directs Qi downward, promotes movement of Qi and blood, alleviates pain

Medical Indications: angina, chest and upper back pain, dyspnea, cough, wheezing, dysentery, diarrhea, tenesmus

Contraindications: not to be used in cases with Qi deficiency, not to be used in patients who are hypersensitive to garlic and onions

Caution: to be used with caution in cases of febrile diseases or Yin deficiency

Dosage: 4.5 to 9 grams
