Xiang Ru (Aromatic Madder)

Latin Name: Herba Elsholtziae

Properties: acrid, aromatic, slightly warm

Actions: releases exterior, expels summerheat, transforms dampness, promotes urination

Medical Indications: fever with chills, dampness, lack of sweat, headaches, body ache, diarrhea, dysuria, edema, kidney stones

Contraindications: not to be used in cases with exterior deficiency syndrome with sweating

Dosage: 3 to 9 grams
