Wu Zhu Yu (Evodia Fruit)

Latin Name: Fructus Evodiae

Properties: acrid, bitter, hot, slightly toxic

Actions: warms middle, disperses cold, relieves liver channel, alleviates pain, descends Qi, stops vomiting, warms spleen, stops diarrhea, expels damp cold

Medical Indications: headaches with cold limbs and retching, abdominal colic, abdominal pain during menstruation, epigastric pain and distension with vomiting and acid reggurgitation, edema and weakness in legs, diarrhea before dawn, mouth ulcers, hypertension

Contraindications: not to be used in cases of Yin deficiency with heat signs, not to be used long-term

Dosage: 3 to 9 grams
