Latin Name: Fructus Schisandrae Chinensis

Properties: sour, warm

Actions: constrains lung Qi, stops cough and wheezing, tonifies kidneys, binds essence, stops diarrhea, inhibits sweating, generates fluids, calms spirit and heart, improves liver function in hepatitis patients, treats allergic skin disorders

Medical Indications: chronic cough and wheezing, spermatorrhea, nocturnal emissions, frequent urination, vaginal discharge, spontaneous sweating, nightsweats, thirst with excessive sweating, wasing and thirsting, palpitations, irritability, insomnia, hepatitis, allergic skin disorders

Contraindications: not to be used in patients with epilepsy, not to be used in cases of excess interior heat, not to be used in cases of early stage coughs or rashes

Dosage: 1.5 to 9 grams
