Wu Shao She (Zaocys, Chinese Rat Snake)

Latin Name: Zaocys Dhumnades

Properties: sweet, salty, neutral

Actions: dispels wind, unblocks channels, stops convulsions

Medical Indications: rheumatoid arthritis, TB in bones and joints, numbness in skin and muscles, paralysis, tetanus, convulsions, polio in children, post stroke deviation of face, hemiplegia, constipation, flatulence, amenorrhea

Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy, not to be used in cases of Yin deficiency with heat signs

Caution: to be used with caution in cases of blood deficiency

Dosage: 3 to 9 grams
