Wu Jia Pi (Acanthopanax Root Bark)

Latin Name: Cortex Radicis Acanthopancis

Properties: acrid, bitter, warm

Actions: transforms dampness, reduces swellings, dispels wind cold dampness, strengthens tendons and bones

Medical Indications: rheumatoid arthralgia with eak extremities, weak or deficient bones and tendons in elderly and developmentally delayed children, muscle spasms, painful cramps due to deficient conditions, edema, dysuria

Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy

Caution: Wu Jia Pi may cause drowsiness and may impair the ability to drive and/or operate machinery, to be used with caution in Yin deficiency with heat signs

Dosage: 4.5 to 15 grams
