Wei Ling Xian (Clematis Root)

Latin Name: Radix Clematidis

Properties: acrid, salty, warm

Actions: dispels wind damp, unblocks channels, relieves pain, disperses accumulation and stagnation, softens and transforms fishbone stuck in throat

Medical Indications: rheumatoid arthritis, gout, muscle spasms, cramps, and pain, stiffness and numbness in extremities, headaches, stroke, tonsillitis, tetanus, beriberi, urinary difficulties, fish bones stuck in throat

Contraindications: not to be used in cases of Qi and blood deficiency

Caution: to be used with caution during pregnancy

Dosage: 6 to 12 grams (15 to 30 grams for stuck fish bones)
