Latin Name: Rhizoma Smilacis Glabrae

Properties: sweet, bland, cool, non-toxic

Actions: clears damp heat from skin, relieves toxins, reduces dampness, treats joint pain

Medical Indications: jaundice due to damp heat, syphilis, urinary tract infections, rheumatoid arthritis, joint pain, skin ulcers, rashes, fungal infections, psoriasis, inflammation of kidneys

Contraindications: not to be used in cases of kidney and liver Yin deficiency, not to be taken together with tea

Dosage: 15 to 60 grams
