Tao Ren (Peach Kernel)

Latin Name: Semen Persicae

Properties: bitter, sweet, neutral

Actions: invigorates blood, breaks blood stasis, moistens intestines, unblocks bowels

Medical Indications: menstrual disorders, postpartum abdominal pain, intestinal abscesses with fixed abdominal mass, lung abscesses, abdominal pain, flank pain, trauma, abscesses and sores, chronic constipation due to Yin or blood deficiency

Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy, not to be used in cases of blood deficiency, not to be used together with anticoagulant drugs

Caution: Tao Ren is very toxic, do not overdose

Dosage: 4.5 to 9 grams
