Tan Xiang (Sandalwood)
Latin Name: Lignum Santali Albi
Properties: acrid, warm, aromatic
Actions: moves Qi, harmonizes stomach, relieves pain, disperses cold
Medical Indications: epigastric and abdominal pain, poor appetite, vomiting (of clear fluids), nausea in chest and throat region, constricting chest pain, dyspnea, angina, hiccups, belching, cold, bronchitis, fever, liver and gallbladder complaints, inflammation of mouth, throat, and urinary tract
Contraindications: not to be used in patients with Yin deficiency or fire heat, not to be used during vomiting due to heat
Caution: to be used with Caution during pregnancy
Dosage: 1.5 to 3 grams
