Mang Xiao (Glauber’s Salt, Sodium Sulfate, Mirabilite)

Latin Name: Natrium Sulfuricum

Properties: salty, bitter, cold

Actions: clears heat, reduces inflammation and swellings, removes accumulation, reduces stagnation

Medical Indications: constipation due to heat and dryness, red and swollen eyes, conjunctivitis, mastitis, appendicitis, mouth or throat ulcers, swollen knee lesions

Contraindications: not to be used in cases of excess heat, edema, or spleen deficiency, not to be used during pregnancy, menstruation, postpartum, or in elderly patients

Dosage: 3 to 9 grams
