Man Jing Zi (Agnus Castus, Vitex)

Latin Name: Fructus Viticis

Properties: bitter, acrid, slightly cold

Actions: clears heat and wind in liver channel, drains dampness and expels wind

Medical Indications: common cold with headache or eye pain due to wind heat, excess lacrimation, night-blindness, blood-shot eyes, cataract, spasms with pain and numbness in limbs

Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy, not to be used together with Wu Tuo and Shi Gao

Caution: to be used with Caution in cases of eye problems or headaches due to Yin or blood deficiency and stomach Qi deficiency

Dosage: 6 to 12 grams
