Latin Name: Tuber Ophiopogonis Japonici

Properties: slightly bitter, sweet, slightly cold

Actions: nourishes Yin, nourishes heart, clears heat, moistens lungs, stops cough, moistens intestines, alleviates constipation, eliminates irritability

Medical Indications: hacking cough, hemoptysis, dry throat and mouth, dyspnea, chest fullness and pain due to damaged lung Yin, dry mouth and thirst due to insufficient stomach Yin, intestinal dryness, constipation, fever, irritability

Contraindications: not to be used in cases of diarrhea from cold and spleen, or stomach deficiency, not to be used in cases of cough caused by wind cold

Caution: Mai Men Dong may cause drowsiness and may impair the ability to drive and/or operate machinery

Dosage: 10 to 15 grams
