Latin Name: Secretio Moschus

Properties: acrid, warm, aromatic, bitter

Actions: opens orifices, invigorates blood,induces resuscitation, restores consciousness, revives spirit, opens closed disorders, reduces swellings, alleviates pain, dissipates clumps, hastens delivery, facilitates downward passage of stillborns

Medical Indications: angina, tumors and carbuncles, boils, seizures, coma due to stroke, apoplexy, traumatic injuries, accumulation of blood stasis, sore throat, amenorrhea, retention of dead fetus or placenta

Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy, not to be used in cases of Yin deficiency with heat

Caution: to be used with caution in cases of hypertension

Dosage: 0.06 to 0.15 grams
