Latin Name: Rhizoma Belamcandae

Properties: bitter, cold

Actions: clears toxic heat, benefits throat, clears lungs, transforms phlegm

Medical Indications: acute laryngitis, tonsillitis, painful swollen throat with phlegm heat, cough with sputum, phlegm obstruction, and wheezing

Contraindications: not to be used during pregnancy, not to be used in cases with diarrhea due to spleen deficiency

Dosage: 1.5 to 9 grams
