Latin Name: Fructus Amomi

Properties: acrid, warm, nontoxic

Actions: transforms dampness, promotes movement of Qi, strengthens and warms spleen, stops diarrhea, harmonizes stomach, stailizes pregnancy, calms fetus

Medical Indications: abdominal and epigastric distention and pain, indigestion, poor appetite, diarrhea due to cold in spleen, nausea, vomiting, unstable pregnancy, restless fetus, abdominal pain with bleeding, morning sickness

Contraindications: not to be used in cases of heat caused by Yin deficiency

Caution: to be used with caution together with anticoagulant drugs

Dosage: 1 to 5 grams
